Eight years ago, Hope Vibes was born out of one simple but heartbreaking truth: that women and men living on the streets were struggling to maintain dignity through basic hygiene. What started with hygiene kits and conversations has grown into mobile shower and laundry vehicles (Hope Tanks) and The Vault Project inside schools, providing ongoing access to hygiene essentials. We believe all people deserve a place to call home, a safe place to rebuild their lives after tragedy. A HopeStead community serves as such. A locale where a person transitioning out of homelessness can focus on rediscovering purpose and rebuilding their lives from the ground up with necessary resources on-site and the aid of a supportive community. Ultimately, the goal of HopeStead communities is to help end the cycle of homelessness, one person at a time. Every person’s situation is different. As a result, there are no “one size fits all” solutions. HopeStead communities will provide on-site assistance from trained professionals to identify individualized pathways to lead residents out of the cycle of homelessness long-term. Available on-site services will include mental health, substance abuse and employment support. “IN PURPOSE THERE IS HOPE.” With on-site jobs ranging from landscaping, gardening, auto mechanics, even the building of a HopeStead... this community is designed to intentionally build in opportunities that give purpose and meaning to everyday life as individuals are in their rebuilding phase. Whether through our on-site employment opportunities or through connections with community partners, HopeStead communities will help residents currently without jobs successfully re-enter the workforce. This is a dream that we are working to turn into a reality. Just like our efforts in building and seeing the Hope Tank in action, this endeavor is a community effort.
