Just freshened up and put on my pajamas for my “night shift” of work. In doing so, I couldn’t help but think... 🤔... That was my second shower today. I met a new friend at one of the tent camps last week and she told me she hadn’t had a shower in months. She couldn’t even remember exactly when the last time was. Can you imagine that???
She currently just wipes her body down as best she can in public restrooms when available or wet wipes/washcloth and water if she has it at her tent camp. As I told her about the #HopeTank, she got sooo excited just at the thought of something like that being available to her. SHE is why the Hope Tank Project is necessary.
What I love about the Hope Tank is that it’s more than just bathrooms with a shower, sink and toilet. It’s more than just washers and dryers. Our team is creating a space that will give our homeless neighbors a moment of rest... a renewed sense of dignity and hope.... a moment of feeling AT HOME. There is nothing anywhere quite like what we’re creating for our homeless neighbors. Our Hope Vibes team along with Shadow 1 have been dreaming and planning and thinking through the smallest of details to build a hope-filled experience that really EVERY human being deserves.
Sorry for the long post but 🤷🏽♀️ To say we’re excited is an understatement! The finish line is in view! 😱
