Today, we were able to serve hundreds of people currently experiencing #homelessness or high #poverty scenarios! About 194 people showed up at breakfast time and around 187 at lunch 🤭. Community Matters Cafe and the Charlotte Rescue Mission teams did such a phenomenal job ensuring that our neighbors had a stellar experience for #Thanksgiving! There were hosts, servers and chefs from all over the city. It was a beautiful thing to see.
Simultaneously, Hope Vibes volunteers distributed brand new blankets from Ember CLT, hygiene supplies and clothes along with free access to #showers + #laundry on the #HopeTank. Special shout out to our friends at The Place Church Clt and #HopeVibes team leaders for holding down the early morning shift…. and other community members wrapping things up with us in the afternoon. Lots of great conversations today. Thank you for giving some of your family time to serve with us today!
